Current News and Updates:
The MJARS Friday Night information and training net is held every Friday night, except the first Friday which is reserved for the MJARS meeting, at 7:00pm CST. The frequency is 443.775 with pl tone of 110.9.
On 1-7-2016, several members began the process of moving one of the club repeaters to one of the city water towers after we got final city approval on 12-14-2015. Our club repeater on 443.775 is now around 160 feet and has a much better coverage. Please give it a try and let us know if you are able to receive it any better. We do have some upgrades in the works to make it even better, but for now we are happy to have it up much higher than its previous location. It took the better part of last year to get the paperwork taken care of and the proper city officials approval. I would like to thank Assistant Chief Eric Peterson and Lt. Greg Cutler with the Mansfield Fire Department who assisted in making this a reality. I also like to thank our MJARS members who have contributed time and money.
The 224.460 repeater has been moved to its higher location. For those with 220 capabilities, please try it out and give us feed back. 224.460 – shift no pl tone.
A 2.4 Ghz AREDN Meshnode was also added to a local tower, operating on Channel -2 under the club callsign WA5JRS. Several members have already obtained equipment for our new high speed data network.
